The Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association’s (LVNBA) Annual Scholarship Gala raises funds for scholarships for law students who are committed to serving minority, low income, and other underserved communities in Clark County, Nevada. The Annual Scholarship Gala is the LVNBA’s signature event and since 1987 the LVNBA has given tens of thousands of dollars to law students in scholarships.
Increasing and maintaining diversity in the legal profession — in law firms, corporations, the judiciary, government, law schools, the legal academy, and bar associations — is vital for ensuring a more just, productive, and intelligent legal system.
Diversity in the legal profession:
- strengthens democracy by creating greater trust in government and the rule of law
- promotes business by creating a workforce from many different backgrounds, perspectives, skill sets, and tastes
- increases the pool of people with the communication and interpersonal skills and the social networks to rise into civic leadership positions
- makes the profession more representative of the diversity in the United States.
The LVNBA also honors four individuals or organizations each year with four awards:
From time to time, the LVNBA honors an individual with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
