In an innovative program that may be the only one of its kind in the country, District Court Judge Timothy C. Williams, Dept. 16, adjudicated a one-day civil trial in the teaching courtroom at Canyon Springs High School on Oct. 10, 2013.
This is not the first time Judge Williams has brought his courtroom to the classroom. Judge Williams plans to continue taking his courtroom to Canyon Springs High School on an annual basis. This groundbreaking program has been very successful in engaging high school students, helping them to understand the judicial system, and inspiring them to pursue careers in the law.
The program is so successful that students who participated in the program have gone on to attend the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law.
