Assemblywoman Dina Neal, the incumbent in Nevada Assembly District 7, was reelected in the 2012 election. District 7 is in Clark County and, according to the 2010 census, had a population of 64,474 of which approximately 25% are African-American.
Assemblywoman Neal has served in the Nevada Assembly since 2011 and will serve until 2014 in her current term. Assemblywoman Neal is Vice Chair of the Government Affairs Committee and a member of the Education Committee and the Taxation Committee.
Assemblywoman Neal is a LVNBA member and has a B.A. in Political Science from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA and a J.D. from the Southern University Law Center.
Assemblywoman Neal is the Vice Chair of the Clark County Community Development Block Grant Board, a member of the Southern Nevada Health District Teen Pregnancy Committee, a member of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
