Assemblyman Frierson Reelected

Assemblyman Jason Frierson

Assemblyman Jason Frierson, the incumbent in Nevada Assembly District 8, was reelected in the 2012 election. District 8 is in Clark County and, according to the 2010 census, had a population of  64,149 of which approximately 12% are African-American.

Assemblyman Frierson is a LVNBA member and has a B.S. in Health Science from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) and a J.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) William S. Boyd School of Law.

Assemblyman Frierson has served in the Nevada Assembly since 2011 and will serve until 2014 in his current term. In the Assembly, he has served as the Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee, and on the Judiciary Committee, and the Health and Human Services Committee. Assemblyman Frierson is the recipient of several honors and awards including Outstanding Freshman Legislator (2011), the Barbara Buckley Community Service Award (2001), and the Roosevelt Fitzgerald Outstanding Student Award (2001).

Assemblyman Frierson is also a past President of the LVNBA (2004-2007) and a graduate of Leadership Las Vegas (2008). He also served as the President of the UNLV Boyd School of Law Student Bar Association (1999-2000) and the President of the Associated Students of the University of Nevada (1994-1995).
