Sandra Douglass Morgan
LVNBA 2012 Attorney of the Year
The Attorney of the Year award is bestowed upon a local attorney who has served the needs of a diverse client base with great success, and inspired the membership of the LVNBA through their ethical law practice and track record for serving the local community, especially communities of color.
A native of Las Vegas, Sandra Douglass Morgan earned her Juris Doctor degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, and was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2003. Currently, Ms. Douglass Morgan serves as Chief Deputy City Attorney for the City of North Las Vegas. Sandra Douglass Morgan’s primary focus is civil litigation, transactional and development matters, where she drafts and negotiates agreements on behalf of the City of North Las Vegas. Ms. Douglass Morgan also provides legal counsel and assistance to the North Las Vegas City Council, Planning Commission, and City departments and boards.
Sandra Douglass Morgan has exemplified commitment to the LVNBA and currently serves as the Chair of the Community Service Committee. In 2012, Ms. Douglass Morgan coordinated the LVNBA’s first MLK Drum Major for Justice Competition, a moot court competition. Sandra Douglass Morgan was honored as one of the National Bar Association’s Nation’s Best Advocates Under 40 in July 2012.
