The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is the 2011 recipient of the LNVBA Community Service Award. The Community Service Award is given to a local individual and/or local non-profit organization that has gone well above and beyond the call of duty and engaged in community service efforts that have improved the quality of life for members of the greater Las Vegas community in any of the following important areas: education, youth mentoring, service to the elderly, homeless, economically disadvantaged, or performed other good works.
The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which is a charitable organization dedicated to providing free legal aid for Clark County’s low income residents since 1958. The Legal Aid Center is governed by an independent Board of Directors who each volunteer their time to ensure the Legal Aid Center is serving a vital community need. The Legal Aid Center aims to preserve access to justice and the provision of quality legal counsel, advice, and representation for individuals who are unable to protect their rights because they cannot afford an attorney.
